Friday 6th March 2015 - Elliston

Morning Tea at Cummings Lookout on the way to Elliston where we intend to spend a few days.  Parked the caravans and walked 500mtrs to the Cummings Monument at the top of quite a steep hill. The views at the top of the rugged coastline of the Southern Ocean are nothing short of spectacular and well worth the hike up to see them.  The lake to the right of the road was Lake Hamilton, and the beach to the left is Kiana Beach. Have seen 3 snakes so far today in the space of about 1 hour.  One black one on the walk to the monument, which was tiny, one huge one on the side of the road, also black, and one curled up on the road which we ran over before we had a chance to dodge it, also black.  Not sure I am happy seeing so many snakes in such a short period of time.  Elliston Caravan park is lovely, shady, lots of lawn and a swimming pool.  We may never leave......
