Saturday 28th Feb 2015 - Free Camp Cowell

Left Moonta and traveling north up the Yorke Peninsula towards our camp for tonight at Whyalla. Stopped at Kadina to have a stroll through the Saturday town market and buy a Cornish Pastie which apparently is where they originated in Australia.  Kadina is a beautiful old town with some stunning sandstone houses.  A really hot one today with an expected top temp of 36 degrees.  MT beside the water at Port Broughton, again a lovely old town with heaps of history,  lunch stop at a picturesque spot just before Port Augusta - Picturesque YEAH RIGHT !!!!!!.  43 degrees and HOT HOT HOT.  Poor Maree opened the fridge to get out her lunch stuff and on the INSIDE of the fridge was filled with ants. There were ants affecting quite a few campers at Moonta so that's where they came from.  Hopefully they are all gone now. No nice Caravan Park at Whyalla so we are moving on.  The wind has really picked up and it very unpleasant at the moment. No sites at Cowell so we are "free camping" just outside the town.  Temperature has dropped from 43 degrees to 23 degrees.....unbelieveble.
