A lovely sunny morning but a bit cold to start the day. On the road again and heading towards Port Augusta. There is a caravan park approx 40kms west of Port Augusta that we hope to stay at. Our journey today takes us from Elliston through Bramfield, Lock and then up to Kyancutta on the Eyre Highway. Only 10 minutes into our trip and I have just spotted a magnificent eagle sitting on a fence post beside the road, Barry stopped so I could take a photo but he was too quick and I was too slow. I adore Eagles. MT at a rest area approx 15kms south of Kyancutta and our lunch stop today was at Kimba which is actually quite a cute little town. We have been through here twice before and bypassed the main street, but today we drove up to the main street and it is a very pretty little town. Have pulled into the Nuttbush Retreat (Pandurra Station) which is a working sheep station 40kms west of Port Augusta. At the moment there are 40 shearers here shearing 15,000 head of sheep which is going to happen in a total of 9 days, hard work starting at 7.00am and finishing at 5.00pm. Managed to have a swim in the pool which was very inviting after a warm day traveling.
Lunch stop today at kimba 1/2 way across Australia
Maree laying down on The Eyre highway.... she always lays down on Main Roads.
Just a few of the Wool Bales from todays shearing.
